How many colleges did you visit?

I am printing out directions to all of the schools that I want to visit before applying and I am at 17 right now and I have about 5 more to go...I am thinking this is way too many but I have no idea how to limit my choices, I did research on each one but the only way to know for sure is to visit...How many schools did you visit?

6 - 3 were Claremont colleges. The others were all in my state. I am applying to three schools without visiting, and one that I only walked around on the campus at age 13.

i visited 5--purdue, unc-ch, ok state, iowa state, u of iowa

I've visited 7 (CA resident):

Is anyone visiting AFTER they apply? I plan to go in the interim between acceptance/reject and declaring which offer I will accept. Is that sane at all?

I only visited 2, and I live in Boston...

I'm planning on visiting 2 or 3 more after/if I get in.

I havent visited any yet :(

and for the person who visited Northeastern.....how was it?

I visited:
Cornell (in the fall of 10th grade...my dad is a crazy alumni)
Dartmouth (twice)
Middlebury
Wesleyan
Bowdoin
Trinity
McGill
Brown

And the ones I didn't visit to visit:
Wash U (because I happened to be there)
St. Louis U (for a friend)
Pitt (taking a class there)
CMU (spent a summer there)
Georgetown (no tour)
GWU (was there for MUN)
JHU (was there for MUN)

And we were going to visit Vassar, Smith, Williams, and Mount Hoyoke but I got sick, and American but we had to cancel.

I would've revisted all the ones I was interested in and Queen's after I applied, but I got in to Dartmouth ED.

Amherst (Twice)
Wesleyan (Twice)
Bates
Bowdoin
Swarthmore
Brandeis
Connecticut College

MY daughter has visited Southwestern, Tulane, Davidson, William&Mary, Williams, Skidmore, Hamilton, Allegheny, Centre, Sewanee, Rhodes, Carleton, and Macalester. Has also been to UofHouston, Rice, Texas A&M, UTexas, Emory, and Vassar but did not do admissions tours.

I visited, but did not apply to:
F. W. Olin College of Engineering
US Air Force Academy
Georgia Tech

I visited, and applied to:
Rice University (ED)
University of Colorado-Boulder
Colorado School of Mines
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

I did not visit, but applied to:
Dartmouth College
Reed College

So my recommendation is that you visit schools that you are considering applying to, because you may find out like me that some are just not going to work. I found out that I wouldn't have had a social life at Olin, would have been miserable in Atlanta at GIT, and wasn't cut out for USAFA.

Aeggie, I haven't visited anywhere eith, but I think I'm going to make a bunch of visits in the Spring.

i went on a swing through new england solely for college visits, like 7ish (i live near philly) and then flew out to stanford.. i also visited penn at leats 10 times

I've visited Boston University, Boston College, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Pomona, Pitzer, Claremont McKenna and Occidental.
