I'm not really sure how many schools I should apply to in the fall .
So far I have (13)
Uconn
Syracuse
Penn state
Binghamton
Albany
Ohio state
Purdue
Umcp
Udeleware
University of Rhode Island
University of florida
Umass Amherst
Pitt

Is that too much?

If all the schools you’re applying to are ones you actually would want to attend and if you can afford both time and money to apply to all of these schools then I think you’re fine. To some, applying to 12 schools may seem like a lot, to others it’s average. Personally I’m applying to about 11 or so (though I might take some off the list).

Just know that some of these schools may require a supplement essay (and even if it’s an optional essay you should write them, it betters your chance), so you might have a lot of work to do come this fall (maybe you should start now if they released any supplemental essay). Also the fee to send in your application to each school might range from $50-90. That could be as much as $1080 in total, so be prepared to pay as much.

I don’t know if they still do this, but Pitt sent my D a code to waive the application fee when she showed interest in their honors program during the summer.

Have you run the Net Price Calculators on all these schools? And brought the results to your parents?
Some of these schools are bound to be too expensive, so that would cut your list a bit.
