How many Comparative Gov't testers are out there?

If any of you guys who are taking a class or self-studying can help me, that would be great. My question is (primarily to self-studiers), are you using the Ethel Wood study guide, and if so, how would you recommend going through the book? I find its lack of an index somewhat annoying, but at the same time, it's an interesting book and I can appreciate that when it comes to AP material.

If anything, it would probably be helpful if someone started a topic for Comparative and/or US gov't studying.

hey i’m self studying it
PM me your AIM

I self studied Comp Gov last year with Ethel’s. I started reading it two weeks before the exam. I think I read it twice during the two weeks (first time just read, second time highlighted). The night before I reread all my highlights. I got a 5 with no problem. Don’t worry about it =]

I am self-studying it…
the ethel woods’ confused me b/c they did not have an answer key…but it seems to work for most ppl…so i’m just going to use that…what else should be done to prepare for it?..I heard reading current events really helps…

my copy came with a pamphlet with the answers attached to the back. Not sure about used copies, if that’s what you got.

Anyways, from what llpitch said, it’s mostly a course dealing with comprehension. 8 FRQ sounds like a lot though…

This is why I did.
I am ready Ethyl Woods book.

First I read through the book. Try to understand concepts and terminology.
A month before the test, I read it again.
Then I took both practice exams and saw what I was struggling in.
Wrote it down on a piece of paper and now i’m studying those parts.

Trust me, when you read the book twice, you’ll know the concepts. What I really want is a 5 though.

oh…i got a used copy, so i guess the answers were not included. however, i tried looking online to just buy the answer key…and i could not find it anywhere…should i try and get it, or jut read it and look up the answers i am unsure of?
also, has anyone used the REA book?? is that useful?

Uh i’m sure we here can just give you the answers.

oh okay…thanks!
could someone pm the multiple choice answers (just like abcde) to the intro, and country cases?? thanks!!!

I’m taking Comparative next year. Is Ethel Woods the best book to get?
So far nobody has mentioned another book for Comparative so I’m guessing that’s the best one.
How long is the book? Does it cover everything you need to know? How are the sample MC questions?

Thanks guys. I really want to get this book over the summer to read because apparently the teacher doesn’t really teach. ANd I’m really interested :)

bumpp…does anyone care to share the multiple choice answers to the intro, and country cases?? thanks!!!

It’s a very good book. Around 250 pages. I found it very helpful and the question are excellent. I don’t know how they relate to the AP exam but I they are still good.
