How many credit hours does a university take from a community college?

I currently attend a community college in Illinois and I will graduate next semester with 70 credit hours. However I want to stay one more semester to complete some of my courses required for my major at UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) to even be considered. So far I have only did Calculus I and General Chemistry with the university consideration agreement. My plan is to complete Calculus II this semester and next semester I will complete Calculus III, Physics Engineering Mechanics and Wave Motions and Computer 101. Then in my summer semester I will take Linear Algebra. So after next semester and then summer I will have accumulated 88 credit hours. Then in the fall my plan is to go off to a university.

88 credits is still only junior class standing (but just barely). You may want to ask the school directly if there are any problems transferring in with high numbers of credits from community colleges (either for admission, or for hitting a limit on the number of credits that some schools have).

http://studentcode.illinois.edu/article3_part8_3-801.html does indicate that UIUC has a graduation requirement of 60 credits taken at UIUC, including 21 credits of 300- or 400-level courses. So if you transfer into UIUC with 88 credits, you will eventually have accumulate a total of 148 or more credits before graduation from UIUC.
