How many degrees can I earn at Michigan State?

I'm a high-school senior and am confident that I'll be accepted at MSU.
I'm interested in Human Biology, Philosophy, Linguistics, and Anthropology.
I know I can double major. Can I double major and recieve a minor? Can I Major and get two minors? I think I can handle the course load because I'm very motivated and have a college level course-load right now Honors Western Civ, Honors Music History, AP Literature, AP Art History, Honors Music Theory, Pre-Calculus and I'm dual enrolled in a college taking philosophy 205 Ethics and 250 Logic. I have a 3.75 GPA. I've taken as many natural sciences too but last year. I just wanted to establish the fact that I know it's more work.

That aside, has anyone obtained multiple degrees at MSU? What were they?

I am currently double majoring and minoring (RCAH and anthropology- minor in Spanish, perhaps adding on a linguistics minor as well) and am set to graduate in three years if I so choose (I am a first year sophomore with 46ish credits at the start of my second semester and will have senior status half-way through next year… my second year lol) so I am a wee bit different then you are. How many credits are you probably going to enter MSU with?

It is entirely doable to double major and get a minor, but you might have to take summer classes (actually… you more than likely will have to take summer classes). Your interests are very close to mine (minus the human biology) so you may want to look into [Residential College in the Arts and Humanities : RCAH](<a href=“Residential College in the Arts and Humanities | Michigan State University”>http://rcah.msu.edu/). That is my primary major and it is a very tiny major- 40some odd credits and is very adaptable to any interests. I am taking courses that concentrate on linguistics, anthropology, and philosophy in the RCAH.

There is also a concentration in medicine and ethics I believe- or something along those lines which might interest you :).

EDIT: Specialization in Bioethics, Humanities, and Society -> [MSU RO: Academic Programs: Specialization in Bioethics, Humanities, and Society](http://www.reg.msu.edu/AcademicPrograms/ProgramDetail.asp?Program=2833)

Best of luck to you! Hope this helps :).

I have a double major in international relations and economics and am hoping to get 3 specializations done (political economy, latin america/caribbean studies, and international development) in 4 years. All of my classes triple-count and almost everything overlaps really well so it is not hard to do. I am studying abroad for 1 summer and I transferred in 21 credits through AP/local college.

There are people with even more complicated majors/minors/specializations. My resident mentor last year was an international relations james madison and pre-med lyman briggs majors (with essentially zero overlap) and she finished in 4 years (she’s rather crazy). At least half of my friends are double majoring…so it is definitely an option and very possible if you are willing to spend the time scheduling/talking to advisers and finding overlap in programs/make the effort in classes.

Fa-la… where are you studying abroad (if you know)? I ask because you of the latin american/caribbean studies specialization and I am studying abroad this summer in a Latin (Central) American country.

Ecuador, hopefully!

Oh have fun! I am off to Costa Rica this summer! :D

I’ve been accepted! Okay well I’ll enter with 28-30 credits. As of now I’m planning to dual major in Human Biology and Physiology and minor in Philosophy. I’ve looked at all the requirements and it’s doable with 15 credits a semester and 6 credits each summer. Thanks for the information! It was helpful. Now I’ll need to wait and see if the counselor at AOP during course selections will give me a hard time or not. (I don’t see why he/she would)

Again, Thank you all.

I got lucky at AOP. There were only 4 people there for my major so my counselor and I had a TON of one-on-one time. Other majors have like one person every 5-10 minutes :(. Just try to get your schedule worked out before you get there. Best of luck :).
