How many different essays do you need?

<p>College A requires an essay and gives four topics to choose from. You can apply online directly to College A.</p>

<p>College A is also part of the Common Application "family." The Common App. has four different essay topics plus a "topic of your choice." College A requires a supplement to the Common App, including an essay.</p>

<p>The essay written for College A is wonderful, funny, charming, and would require only one minor tweak to be used for any college, not just College A.</p>

<p>So, is there anything wrong with using the funny essay and applying directly to College A, and then tweaking that essay and using it on the Common Application to apply to other colleges???</p>

<p>Nothing wrong with using essays for multiple schools or modifying to fit a different prompt. How many you need really depends on the number of schools you apply to and how much their essays overlap.</p>
