How many do colleges look at?

If a college only requires 2 SAT Subject Tests (I'm thinking of Olin in particular), then do they acknowledge every SAT II you took?

I took Physics, Math II, and Chem, didn't study at all, and it shows....

Chem: 800 (woohoo)
Math II: 750 (alright, may retake) this was terrible since I haven't taken PreCalc in like 4 years :]
Physics: 740 (ewww on such an easy curve)

So, I probably won't retake if they'll only look at Chem and Math II. However, if they really look at Physics too, then I'll retake Math and Physics with studying just for ****s and giggles.

What are your thoughts?

you like men

i agree with math4590, very insightful post, well thought out.

Wow, breathtaking.

I think they can see the scores, but they don’t put heavy weight on it. I don’t think it really helps you that much either.

If you put down Chem and Math II on your app, that’s what they’ll care about. he reason why they want you to enter your subject test scores (even though you’ll have to send an official CB score report) is so they know which ones you want them to consider for you. Olin and similar schools won’t care about US History or Lit, but since they only want you to report Math II and a science, it would be unfair to hold anything against you for taking a second science (and getting a score that’s probably just below the mid 50) as opposed to someone who only took one science subject test. Olin also has a more modern admissions system, so they shouldn’t be as picky as other schools.

750 is just at the bottom end of the mid 50 for Math II at Olin (I believe) and Caltech and MIT (more certain about those two - although a lot get 800s of course). If you’re already signed up, you can take it - just get higher than a 750, or they’ll be more worried about that than showing another science score that’s not an 800.
