Hi all,

My D auditioned last weekend for the MT program. we understand in December there is a yes, no, or maybe (wait list) result. Does anyone know how many yes/maybe answers there are in December? Hope auditions are going well!

HI quinoamom26, can you give any details about the day?
Checkin?
Experience?
Dialogue from Auditors?
Dance?
Length?
My D goes on 11/15. This is all so exciting.
Thanks and good luck to your daughter.

quinoamom206,

I could be wrong, but in the last two years, the process before January has meant prospectives get a yes, no, or deferred, or still in consideration (not really a waitlist.) The bulk of those auditioning before Jan usually are deferred for a later decision. Some could still receive offers throughout the audition season, and, then finally the complete group of offers is out by the spring. At that same time, certain students are released from consideration and some are put on a true waitlist so that if an initial offer isn’t accepted by the Number 1 prospective, they then go to that MT waitlist. Perhaps the process has changed, but this is how it’s happened most recently. Just thought I’d mention this as terminology can get a bit confusing, and can differ from school to school. I know of at least 1 boy and possibly 1 girl in certain years getting offers before Jan from Elon. It’s possible there were more, maybe in Dec 2011? But, the offers of acceptance for MT before January are fairly low. I couldn’t begin to estimate the number of students deferred. Best wishes to your daughter!

Hi,

abparent is correct! We make some offers (only a few) in December, but most will receive a “still in consideration”. We will wait until the majority of the auditions are finished in the spring and make decisions based off of those!

Two quick questions:

Academic acceptance is separate, which has caused some confusion I’m afraid in the past because people misunderstood and thought they were accepted into the program after receiving the academic acceptance.

Elon faculty generally don’t do feedback. They may give you a re-direction, ask questions. But that’s about it.
