how many foreign languages should i take???

I took Spanish 1 in middle school tat counts as a high school credit and Spanish 2 in high school, got an A in both of them. How important is it to continue taking Spanish and if so, what level do i have to complete?

I would recommend taking Spanish III. After that, you can say “adios” to Espanol.

MIT says what they’re looking for here:
[MIT Admissions: Recommended High School Preparation](http://mitadmissions.org/topics/before/recommended_high_school_preparation/index.shtml)

"We recommend that your high school years include the following:

 • Two years of a foreign language"

Keep in mind, other schools may like you to take more.

I see MIT thinks languages are important as well. May i ask a question as well? In my secondary school (grammar school, either ancient Greek or Latin is obligated) I have Latin. My GPA is 5,7 out of 10, 1 is the lowest grade and 10 the highest. This is even slightly a bit above the class average, but I rank third overall of my class. My class consist of 26 people, and my counselor pointed out the students of this school are amongst the top 2% of the Netherlands. My GPA was 7.3 (rank third) when counselor filled in my form, and 7.46 (probably second) at the moment.
Do many people in the US have Latin? And what would MIT think about this low grade. Will they appreciate my other languages and ignore my low Latin GPA?

I took Latin for six years and will do annual final exams in it. I got a 5.7 out of 10.
I took English for six years and will do annual final exams in it. I got a 7.9 out of 10.
I took Dutch for six years and will do annual exams in it. I got a 7.4 out of it.
I took Chinese for 3 years and will do annual exams in it (this course is actually 5 years long but I joined in later) 8.9 out of 10. I’m Chinese but I don’t speak mandarin, I speak a dialect and btw I live in Holland so that’s why I took Dutch.
I took French for four years and I will not do final annual exams in it.
I took German for five years, I quit and might do final annual exams in it, but I didn’t pointed this out.

I mean my GPA for Latin is 5.7
