For me: in a class of 300, I have around 7-10 of the top 30 people applying to Cornell RD, including me. Talk about competition!

I'm the only one applying ED. I'm hoping to beat the rush because there's probably about 10 of my class of 160 applying RD.

im not applying ED, but some of my close friends are...with a graduating class of approx 120, we can expect 5-9 ED applicants, maybe more this year

idk, but last year my school had 3 out of 560 apply and all were rejected. Luckily, my credentials are higher, but we'll see.

hey about 2... and they're idiots... ranked 39,46/450 but actually idiots, like can't hold a conversation with them...

hahaha my schools freaking crazy. SO many people this year have applied ED..and probably the rest will for RD. theres maybe like 250 kids in my class.. last year like 20 soemthing got in though. lotz of competition =

Out of a class of 560, I'm the only one applying to Cornell, ED and RD, I think. Most people in Calgary haven't really heard much about Cornell. In fact, I'm pretty certain that no more than 10-15 people from my class are leaving Canada for college.

The competition comes after u get in. The grade system is so messed up here. For my last CS211 prelim, the average was 43 out of 100.

HAHA, two, but they suck. JK, I hope they don't read this. lol. ;)

aznxjesus - there's no curve? So if the average was 43, how can the majority of students fail the class?

only two are applying from my school... but for the rest of the ivies i have no competition :)

I'm the only one applying ED, but there are at least 3-4 others in my class applying RD. My class has about 530 in it, with about 50 in IB.

out of a senior class of around 360 (i think like 356) we have something like 17 applying early and a lot more applying regular.

out of my class of 650, i am pretty sure I am the only one applying early decision to engineering, i don't know of any other applying early for the other colleges at cornell, i know of about 5 or 6 others that will be applying regular if they don't get their ED school, I think last year only 5 applied to Cornell, if that. Most kids from my school go to either UVa, Virginia Tech, or George Mason, however I think we had one kid get into cornell engineering and decide to attend.

I know of two or three in my school that are applying.

I think I am the only one applying ED, out of a class of about 130. I'm not sure about RD though.

yeah, even though Ivies may say they don't put quotas on high schools, I'm sure that they take no more than 2-3 from the vast majority of high schools that have an overwhelming applicant rate. However, I do have legacy there, and my scores are pretty much tied with this other really high scoring kid. So it might come down to us competing against the other 5-6 kids, who also have great scores. It's kinda funny, but we all have the same ECs of nearly the same quality since my school is small and in the middle of a couple of cornfields.... So it may just come down to some little things like scores,rAce, legacy etc, which'll hopefully help me.

out of a class of 100, 5/6 are applying, including me, and i think only one of them is applyind ed...

not that I'm a senior, but out of 405 from the senior class, no more than 15 will apply to "elite colleges" (those ranked 30 or better by us news)

hmmm...out of a graduating class of ~130, i would say 30-40 apply to elite colleges (35 or better, Univ and LAC)
