How many full rides did you get?

Posse foundation?

Daughter was admitted to Tufts last year, while it was a very attractive financial aid package that did meet our demonstrated need. After subtrracting our EFC, and the amount of money she need ed from summer earnings (Abour $2500) there were loans, work study along a sizeable scholarhip. The need was fully met but, she got better offers from Williams, Bryn Mawr, and Dartmouth.

There is really no such thing as a ful ride because even if your family has an EFC of "0" (which would most likely be public assistance) Your package is going to include a

student contrubution (money earned from working over the summer before you get there)

Student loans
Work Study
Grants/Scholarships

One of my duahter's friends was a Posse scholar at Hamilton (it was a full tuition scholarship, did not include, room board misc)

Cornell doesn't give full rides. You could get a financial aid package that amounts to a full ride. I have an EFC of 0 ~ 500 dollars. Cornell gave me around 36,000 grants. However, they had a sumemr expectation of about 2060 dollars. They always gave me a 610 dollar perkins loan and 2625 direct stafford loan w/ 1800 in work study. Cornell is generous for low income students but they don't give full rides unless you win a special Cornell scholarship which may eliminate your loans. Other than that, your EFC and summer savings and work study stays. Scholarships do not decrease EFC at cornell. They only reduce self help and if the scholarships go beyond the self help, it decreases grants.

I got a full ride at drexel univ. as part of a science fair scholarship. then again, I dont really want to go there, since i got into Harvard...I hope i get a good aid option there, since my family falls under their "inititive" plan

lol, i wish i could spell, sorry!

Duke, George Washington, UMCP
1540, 3.98 --- Extremely prestigious public magnet school

Full ride to Miami of OH (Harrison Scholarship), very close to full ride to IU-Bloomington (instate). 34 ACT, 1450 SAT, 11/504, 3.973W, 3.814UW. I think essays were what helped me most, since my stats are good, but not terribly impressive.

All the public schools in Florida except UF. Many out of state publics as well (those actively recruiting NMSFs).

UMass Amherst. Woo.

aussiek, how did u already hear from miami? i thought they start sending acceptances in feb?

Hey I got this college magazine and they had a whole article about UMass Amherst vs. Amherst College, you should check it out.

monabala86-- I didn't get an acceptance letter from the admissions office, I got a letter from the Harrison Scholarship people on Friday. I was surprised; it was two months earlier than what the website indicated.

crypto86 and herestoyou,

is montclair state known to give out scholarships to NJ residents? i remember my cousin, who lives in NJ and has very good stats, got a full ride to a college in NJ but his parents said that he thought the college sucks and so he threw the letter in the trash. would this be monclair state?

University of Alabama. probably the only fullride I'll get

Montclair State give any NJ resident who has >1400 SAT’s and grads in the top 5% full tuition, room & board plus fees for four years. Not a bad deal.

i got a full ride to mercer university in georgia

Why not? Anythink wrong with Cal Poly?
