I can take tests and perform reasonably well with only 4 hours of sleep

But a lot of the kids in my class seriously freak if they get less than 6 hours of sleep. I think that is incredibly odd because I usually get 6 hours a sleep a night, mostly because I choose too.

I had to adjust my entire sleeping schedule from sleeping 8-10 hours to less than 7 once this year began. I can function fine at school from as little as 4 hours a night, but I’ll collapse once I get home.

I usually get 5-7 hours. Probably around 6 on a normal school night.

I could probably get 4 and still function. But I tend to doze off in a lot of my classes with 6 hours of sleep so getting only 4 hours might not be such a good idea. Especially during history/english tests…

I need at least eight hours of sleep to function. Being a procrastinator, this means my homework’s often rushed to get enough sleep, but it’s worth it. Without my eight hours of sleep, I can’t concentrate at all.

Good for you brandnewstate. Sleep is not like cash. It’s nonrefundable, nonrenewable, and nontransferable. A lot like credit cards.

So it catches up. To be normal and not crash into objects, I need 12+ hours of sleep. I order to function adequately I need either 0 hours of sleep or 8+ hours. Anything in between makes me dead.

Even 12+ isn’t enough. I need 9 hours all year round, except I don’t so it catches up to me during exams. When I black out, or my mind lags and fails me during exams (due to lack of sleep).
