what does it mean by intense studying?
how many hours a day should I put into studying SAT?

I'm a junior and have fairly easy classes (AP chem, cal AB)

I just don't have the patient to study SAT more than 30 min a day.
How many hours (or min) would be enough (considering I'm above average) a day to self study SAT(aiming for 2300 +)?

when do I exactly start studying hard for it ????
(not counting the math section because I'm sure ill get 750+)

I have the same problem. Except I am aiming for a 2100+. As of right now I have a 1560. But I still have a few months to go. So I guess I'm going to study 1 hour a day doing practice problems.

A friend of mine - who is EXTREMELY well organized - studied a solid hour for the SAT every single day for a couple months, and raised her score... maybe 100 points?

it depends on ur current score and ur goal...I have a friend who moved from 1500 to ~2000 just in 40 days hard practice, but I think that to move from 2000 to 2200 will take at least six months ?!!??

I think you can improve very easily if you just practice. In two months, if you are focused and keep your priority the SAT, I think you can get a 2000+. BUT, this would mean you would have to give the SAT more importance than your grades, ECs, etc.

If you can do that for two months, I am pretty sure you can get a 2000+.

There is no how many hours is required for this, or how many hours are required for that.... It's based on what type of test taker you are, what knowledge you already possess, and how hard you work.

its different for different people.. some ppl are smart but don't kno they are smart.. those are the ppl who can jump 500 points. ppl who are capable of 1500 aren't going to jump to 2000 like that.

Umm. i got 1910 on june testing with 0 hours prep, did it basically cold. Now i'm aiming for 2200 at least.. 2300 would be a miracle, but 2200 is my bare minimum goal.

lil_killer129,
he used to practice every day for approximately 7-8 hours during our summer break... he turned into SATaholic; when he scored 1560 on 4th of june he was so desperate that he decided to put all his efforts in the SATs, so he used to get up in 5:00 every day to read, make practice tests, study vocab and so on ... as for the workbooks he bought more than 6: Kaplan, CB- blue book, 10 real sats, Princeton review 11 practice tests, Barrons (2005), Master the SAT, Gruber's (2005) ....and in the middle july he started scoring in the range - 1950-2020

I definitely recommend consistent practice for each day. Schedule it into your schedule, even if it is only 30 or 45 minutes a day. Consistent practice is far better than a five hour marathon day.
