I applied regular--I have 38. I'm sure you're fine.

What are you asking exactly? I don't understand :o

thats ALOT...like over 5 hours a say, 7 days a week. I have like 20, at most. But I'm a junior though :)

i had prob more than 40. but the weeks/year left it as much less than that avg/wk

i didn't count, tho. how'd that occur to you?

I had 38 because some things, marching band for example--that's 20 hours a week, but only for 2 and a half months. it's 38 if you add them all up, but not all at a time. in the 20s at a time.

Adding them all up...mine is about 200 hrs.

What are you asking? Per week? Per year?

Per week, I'd say 20-30.

Per year, over 500.

sorry i wasn't being clear.. per week on average

krabble, on the EC section of the app, they ask you to list how many hours per week you spend on that activity. I was wondering how many hours you spent on your ECs per week... if you add all the hours together

26e, since this site is most useful for comparison among applicants, I just wanted to see if the number of hours I spent on my activities was considered "normal". :)

ah per week? then it would probably be about 3-5 hrs per week with some weeks gaining a heck of a lot more if I have club meetings.

Per week?

25 probably.

Sports are 3 hours a day, then a ton of speech and debate stuff.

More if I gotta do church things, can easily get up to 50.

I don't sleep enough

3-5 TOTAL? that's kinda low isn't it?

50-60...i spend way over 20 hours per week doing research

OH... okay.. I thought you meant # of hours per year, and I thought 30 or 40 was a bit low haha.. for me, it depends on what time of year. Sometimes it can be 5 to 10 hours, while at other times, it is upwards 30 hours.

dooit 3-5 per week, not total. Is that low??? That's only for my one regular EC, hospital volunteering, which is on every Friday. So far I have 150 with hospital volunteering alone. I am involved with other clubs, but they meet like one week per month if there isn't anything special going on.

I might be more involved but I just don't have the energy sometimes. Between IB, volunteering, homework, projects, college applications, IAs bleh...

I had in the low 50s per week including everything, though, ECs, volunteer work, jobs, hobbies etc. I think sometimes people underestimate the time of some of their commitments. I used the book Rock Hard Apps by Katharine Cohen as a guide, and that was also a typical number of hours for an involved student. She says to include travel time if you play away games, rehearsal time if you're in the band, etc.
