Hey guys. i need to know how many hrs u prep each day. i prep like 5-7 hrs. I do vocab and practice tests everyday. How long did u prep? How was ur prep organized everyday? plzz guys help me out. I AM TIRED OF DOING IT SO LONG EVERYDAY.

I just took a few practice tests every weekend. That's about it for me.

anymore????????

DOUBLE BUMP. come on high scorers.

5-7 hrs? you're overdoing it. I took practice tests on and off (for about 2-3 months total) and I studied vocab occasionally.

yes you are definitely over-doing it. (especially during the Winter Break) I still remember last year when I was taking a test every two days during my Break. Then, when school started, I dropped everything. It might do you well to take a break from studying now or later before the test.

thanks a lot. anymore plz?

(during this winter break) i've been studying for the SAT from sun rise to sunset and driving myself insane and what's tragic is that MY SCORE'S NOT GETTING ANY BETTER!!!!!!

maybe a practice test a day

ive been doing a practice test every few days for winter break

then on the days im not doing a test i study vocab/some grammar. it seems to be effective,

It is pointless to kill yourself studying all day. I studied maybe a good hour and a half or 2 hours a day for a long time and I got all the preparation I needed to get the score I wanted. In reality, the SAT isn't a huge factor when determining college admission. It is nowhere close to as important as some people think. Spend more time doing schoolwork and extracurriculars instead of dedicating every minute of every day studying for a 3 hour test. Most schools value GPA first because it is the complete record of how you performed over your high school career. Next would probably be extracurriculars because they show what you did outside of the classroom over the entire four years. They show that you are well-rounded and not just a study geek. The SAT, however, is a representation of 3 hours of your high school career, which is not nearly enough to be a very accurate representation of how bright you are. I know kids that have excellent grades but did bad on that test but still got into very high level schools. What I"m trying to say is you shouldnt stress yourself too much over the SAT. Yes, you should spend some time studying, but you have to realize that there are more important things.

*** 5-7 hours/ i wouldn't say it's pointless....1600 is always nice....and some ppl enjoy studying for/taking the sat lol:P but 5-7 hours is a ****load of time.

I think going through the whole Real SAT book will do the job. Good Luck!
P.S. I'm taking the Jan test too and I plan to solely use the Real SAT book...real questions= real measures!

u think so? did u take da test yet?

took one...9 to go...wee~

Yes, the SAT is different from other tests. Overdoing it like that will hurt you. Slow it down a little.

30 minutes a day for about a month.

I sporadically took tests every week or so. Some vocab memorization here or there. It worked out all right. btw, how high do you want to score?

I did 1 test (~3hrs) a week.

1 hr a day 4 months before taking the test is what I did.
How did you fit in all that test prep in your day?
