how many internationals are applying to Upenn this year under regular?

hello,

i am from Nepal and applying to Upenn under Regualr this year? Which country are you from and are you applying to Upenn?

I'm from Korea, applying to Penn RD

... looking for your competition?
:P
I'm from Romania

1 QUESTION about the application.
I wanted to submit it but when I looked at the preview I noticed a part that should be completed only by international students, which I could not find in the part of the online application which we had to complete.
It is about the final national exams. Where is it???
Thanks

I have no idea about those national exams...what do you mean???
I'm confused about the Toefl scores...don't get how I'm supposed to put the numbers into the three sections...ahhh

I know.. I only put the composite score. I guess the break-down will be sent by ETS. :-??

hit print application and you will see what I am talking about

uhmmm okay, I hope they figure out the scores by themselves...think I'll finish the app today, hopefully.

heartless_tin, have you finished your appl? :)

I'm applying from the UK.

I was told to not worry about boxes that aren't filled out under preview, it's just some box that other universities might use apparently. If in the common app there's no place to fill it then it should be ok.

That's what the nice lady at the admissions office said anyway...

how many of you international students applied for financial aid?

plusqueparfaite, I'm going to finish my app...soon. I don't like my essay and want to write a new one. it's taking me such a long time!

quag_mire, I'm applying for financial aid...need it.

quag_mire,

I am also applying for aid.

But one question is giving me problems. What did u guys write in the question about which professor would you like to work with and why?
And, the unique characteristics of Upenn....what to write?

One more thing......
CAn you guys post your stats so that we will know what kind of competitors we are competing against.

Starting with me,

SAT Reasoning : 800 M , 650 CR, 680 W
SAT Subject Tests : 800 Maths Level 2, 800 Chemistry, 740 Physics
TOEFL-ibt : 110
A-Level Subjects: Physics A, Chemistry A, Biology A, Mathematcis A, General Paper A
No AP's available at school
Rank : 1/78
ECA's : Ok. Vice president of some club, member of another club, got some international awards and some national awards

well okay, Penn is a high high reach for me and I'll be like the last one any of you need to be worried about. My sat scores are so low I don't see any chances...but still couldn't give up. Taking them again in Jan. I'm done with sending those apps.

purushottam, I just looked up the professors in the department of my interest and decided to write about one of those people- something about human rights.

i'm applying to penn too, RD. will be needing aid, lots of it.

don't worry everyone, i'm not exactly your strongest competitor. heh.

where is everyone else applying to anyway?

mm...im also worried abt the penn professor thingy...how r we supposed to no wich penn professor is interesting by their qualifications? i've been the faculty pages...i didnt find it helpful...

Someone plz explain about the unique characteristics of penn.

Uhmm if you decided to apply to Penn, you must have a reason - why? what made you do that? If you have a reason, that must be the attraction, some characteristic of Penn you like.

Explore the Penn website and see what they have to offer. Is there a particular degree program or cross-disciplinary program that interests you? Maybe there's something about the way they approach teaching for example? Why does it interest you? What can you bring to Penn, and how will you best utilize their offerings?

For the faculty question, School of Arts&Sciences - University of Pennsylvania has a list of the faculty for the College of Arts/Science if anyone is stuck. I'm sure Wharton and the School of Engineering have similar pages...What I did was just scroll down the list, if there was a professor teaching a subject area that interested me, I clicked on his/her name and read the little bio they have. I was lucky to find one who combined two of my interests together, so I wrote about why I am interested in his field of specialization (and I really do hope to take one his classes at some point!)

Best of luck to all applicants!

thank you guys.
i have completed my penn application just today and will send it tommorrow
