Long story short:
My first composite score was 1890.
My second was 1930.
So, taking the highest score from each section that lands me a 1970. And that is lower than I had hoped for...

I have heard waaay too many different things about how many times to take the SAT, for instance, if you take it more than two times, they start to average the scores instead of taking the highest from each section, and I have heard the opposite, that you can take it as many times as you want, too. Which is the case, does it vary from college to college? Thanks in advance.

I’m pretty sure it varies by college. For example, not all colleges superscore your SATs (taking the highest score from each section). From what I’ve heard, the general consensus is that you should not take more than three tests.

Have you tried the ACT? Pick up a copy of the prep material at your public library and see what you think. Many students perform better on the ACT than on the SAT (and vice versa).
