If a college only requires two letters but allows a maximum of three or four, should I send in more than two or only submit two? I read that admissions officers become annoyed if they have to read a lot of letters of recommendation. I really want to ask my AP Chemistry teacher to write me a letter, but Im already asking my AP Calc teacher and my 10th grade literature teacher (current AP Lit teacher) because I heard that its better to have one math/science and one humanities. Also, if there is a section that allows me to assign additional recommenders other than teachers, should I ask a letter of recommendation from someone such as my volunteer coordinator? Please and thank you!

Don’t ask for the extra letters. You have no compelling reason. The extra should only be for something special. Stick to the 2, one chem or calc and one Lit. Usually the GC will send something too.
