Hi everybody,

I'm going to update my cell phone plan but I'm not sure how many minutes I should buy for college. How often do you use your phone on campus, and how many minutes does your plan have? Did you find that you use your cell phone MORE at college than you did in high school, or LESS?

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

I don't know about you, but I text. A lot. That's how I communicate. Rarely do I call somebody, and when I do, I wait until my minutes are free. If I'm just calling to clear something up really fast, then there is no problem.

I use AT&T. I get 400 minutes a month for about 30 dollars, and I have 20 dollars added on for unlimited texting. I'm getting an iPhone soon, so I'll be doing a 3G plan that is around 80. My parents are paying it, though...

So it just depends on whether or not you text. Do you text a lot? Get the minimum minutes with free nights and weekends, and unlimited texts. If you already talk a lot, but don't text much, get about 700 for... oh, 40 bucks or so.

I have unlimited minutes with unlimited texts.

$40/month

I text all the time, it's the most convenient way for me to communicate. I'd say I use around 2000-2500 a month. I don't talk on it much, mostly for whenever I'm in a hurry or when I talk with parents or friends back home. I share 550 minutes with my parents and usually have about 50 left over at the end of the month. I definitely use my phone much more than I did in high school.
