How many of these schools will I get into?

Jprencipe: Duke and Dartmouth are "significant reaches"? Interesting, considering I am above their "average" stats. I thought they were in the match, high match, or low reach territory for me.

Well ... hmm ... I take them being "significant reaches" back. Since you don't quite have the 1500, and your SAT II's show some weakness, they are going to be somewhat of a reach, however. I would lower Duke and Williams to match/reach, and Dartmouth to low reach.

I think this will better reflect your chances.

Also, maybe I was a bit harsh on your Princeton prospects simply because no one from my school gets in unless they're a genius. So I wouldn't say it's completely out of reach, but it is a significant reach.

and joe, keep in mind our school never gets anybody into pton cuz we compete against all the kids of profs and alumni over at princeton high. so, since we live 10 mins from pton its alot harder for us than it would be for someone from VA.

Yeah. It's really pathetic. I'm not getting in either ... what a waste of my ED. I do want to go there, but just because of our situation, I'm not expecting anything.

Joey

ah joe dont worry, ur one of the few people in our school who didnt fall off this year. keep it up and youve got valedictorian locked up.

Jprencipe, that kind of sucks that you are from new jersey. I know people from NJ who had great stats and were rejected from Princeton, probably just due to the vast number of applicants from the area. Two family friends from NJ were both valedictorians who were rejected not only at Princeton by at Harvard and Yale...One of them ended up at Cornell and the other at UVa. Another person I know from NJ said 40-50 people apply to Princeton each year from his school and since he has been in high school, more than two have not gotten in.

I'm hoping that being from my school and my part of virginia will help a little bit...The tour guide I had up at Princeton (from NY) said that her area of NY (upstate) was somewhat underrepresented and no one had ever applied from her school. The year she applied, two other people from her school did as well, and all three got in. I'm just hoping to get lucky...haha...another two weeks or so...
