How many of u have been interviewed

Hi everyone! I will be interviewed next month. Im a little bit nervous now cuz I saw someone’s post about Bard’s interview-which is more than unique in some random places.
SO how unique is it? How much does it weight in the admission process? I’m sooo afraid of screw up since I really desire to get in BARD! I’m in sort of dilemma: the interview is not required but highly recommended; personallly I also want to give admission officers some information about myself in a humanity dimension. Then I scheduled an interview without hesitate. Now someone told me about bard’s unique interview which makes me dunno how to prepare for the interview. :frowning: I have to go forward for the interview. Ironically, not like my user name “goback”, I always push myself in a situation where I cant go back. However I dont regret about the choice I’ve made; if I really go back, I might also make the same decision…sry about the confounding thing

But truly, can any of you nice ppl give me some suggestions about interview? any input is appreciated. :)

I had an interview with someone from Bard in my area. It was not weird or unique, and I have had interviews in the double-digits so far! I would definitely interview. The interview that I had was more like a conversation.

thank you thisisreal! i'm relieved now. :)
do u have any interview experience to share?

um... just be your more intellectual self if that makes any sense. Do not try to be anything you are not, if you are an artist talk about it. Sometimes its nice to show them that your passionate about one subject (if this is true about you) so that they will remember you more. And just have fun. If they trip you up with a q. (which I don't think they will) just take a second to think about it and answer it like any other question. And if all else fails, think of this as a fun, exciting time, to act like D'Caprio in the movie Catch Me if you can (But only if you are a really good actor ;)) jk. But really, just talk to them causaully with respect and talk about why you are passionate.

Good Luck. Hope this unorganized rant was a little helpful.

I didn't have a legitimate interview, but I met with the President of the school. All I can say is, just be yourself and don't just say things that you think will impress them. Do research about things and have questions to ask.

are interviews required? I don't remember anything about that. I applied and it's a tie with another school for my first choice, how do I go about getting an interview?

It's definitely not required. I think you have to call them to schedule an interview.

ok thanks!

My daughter was just accepted with no interview and hasn't visited the school yet. I think you will do okay if you decide not to interview as long as you are a close match with gpa and demonstrate that you are a passionate learner either via your essay or extra curriculars...

my interview was during the IDP process so I don't know how it works usually. it was with a Bard grad who worked in admissions.

it went really well, we really clicked and it wasn't high pressure or anything, she made it very clear that she was on my side. she had already read my application so we had a lot to talk about and it felt very natural--we spent most of the time talking about the issues of city governments regulating panhandling (don't ask me how we got started on that, lol).

I don't know what role it plays in admission, but be yourself, ask questions, and try to show them what you want them to see in you, not what you think they want to see.

I didn't have an interview and I got in. don't stress.
