And if you do, do you have your own car? How old were you?
...Another thing I'm curious about.

Personally, my sixteenth birthday is this September, and I shall be taking driver's ed over the summer, and getting my permit in less than a month from now. In my state, we have to have to have our permits for six months before taking our driver's license test. So I'll have my license around January.

I got my permit a month after turning 15 and a half (minimum age for a permit here in CA). I got my license 4 months after my 16th birthday. I don’t have my own car.

I got my permit two months after I turned sixteen and my license six months after that. I had a car about two months later and couldn’t be happier :)

Permit at 15 and 4 months (min age here is 15)
Got my license 14 months later. Already had an extra car (97 Corolla), and my parents said I get a new one if I get into an Ivy (not likely lol)

I got my permit like the day i turned fifteen and a half haha and got my license a week after my sixteenth birthday I drive a 1996 camry, like a boss haha.

I got my permit when I was a couple of months from 16, last summer. I still do not have my license since I failed my test two weeks ago (and it was quite an embarrassing fail), and the local DMV is booked for the next month.

I’m 17 and I have a license (though in my state it’s a few more months before I can drive people outside of my family). I have a car that I can drive but it’s my family’s, not “mine.”

I got my permit the day after I turned 15, and my license exactly a year after that. I was quite eager to be able to drive myself. My birthday is in April. I was allowed to use my dad’s truck when he went out of the country June-October, and then he bought me my own car in January, while I was still 16. I drive a 2010 Prius and she’s my baby. <3

I can drive…I don’t know why but I waited to do driver’s ed, did it the summer before junior year instead of asap after freshman year, but it all worked out well because I got my license right before my birthday–since it was so close, they just let me skip renewing it at 17 and I’ll just renew it at 18. So happy.

As for cars, I don’t have my own, but I usually drive my dad’s when I need to go somewhere. It’s kind of annoying though, that when I’m out of school and everyone else is working I’m stuck at home. Bleh.

I got my license a few months ago, right around my 17th birthday. I got my car not long after. It’s a 2001 Acura integra, and I love it! Good luck with your license!

Don’t have my own car but have had my license for 7 months since my 16th birthday. So useful to drive! I probably won’t own my own car till I’m 50 (at least it feels that way with college debt looming)

I got my license a week after my 16th birthday. I didn’t actually start driving until I was 17. I got my first car for $250 the christmas of my 17th birthday. red '97 chevy monte carlo with 210k miles. From then until now, almost a year, I’ve put on 15k miles and it still runs like a beast haha.

being able to drive is a ton of fun, and you have so much freedom. but just be prepared, gas is expensive.
