How many of you text or use your phone in class

Just wondering

2 difficult

Often. Lol.

Never. It’s disrespectful to the teacher, and I tend to respect my teachers.

I use my phone every period. Some say it’s disrespectful, but it isn’t disrespectful if the teacher says they don’t care.

Depends on the class. Band I don’t since my director hates it when people do, and AP chem I don’t because I need to pay attention since its so hard. But in french and my joke classes, all the time.

Imo, it’s only disrespectful if you’re texting when the teacher is lecturing and/or talking directly to you.

A lot of my teachers don’t mind. I use my phone right in front of my math teacher while we’re doing notes, and he doesn’t care.

I have to pay attention in math and chemistry, because I find those classes hard, but otherwise, all the time.

very rarely

Once I hit junior year, my teachers stopped caring! I think they realize that the kids who want to learn will pay attention, and the ones who dont will find a way to not pay attention regardless. That being said…I do in every class…

Nope, not ever…

Probably 50% of the time. I don’t in classes where the teacher is known to confiscate phones or to take points for phone usage. Other than that, if my grade isn’t affected I will use it.

Yeah… I try not to but I do. I do it a lot in 4th block.

It depends on the class.

I really respect my apush teacher/enjoy learning apush, so I pay attention.

I HATE Spanish, but my teacher is super strict and would notice. I don’t respect her at all but I don’t want to get a referral/my phone taken.

In AP Bio, all the time.

In AP Stat, no cause I suck at math and need to learn.

In AP Psych, I did all the time first semester, then all of a sudden my teacher started caring so I stopped.

In English, same as apush. I like the class and my teacher so I don’t.

nahh, it’s hard to text behind a backpack/books. plus inside my school there’s little to no service anyway.

I text in Spanish because it’s a joke and my teacher doesn’t teach. Most of the time, she talks about creepy things that make you think “TMI!!”, instead of teaching us Spanish. I’ve got an iPhone and it’s pretty easy to text without looking because of the touch keypad. :)

Never text in organic chem, we’re always working on a some kind of lab.
Never text in my AP classes either.

Sometimes I text in math (because I can easily hide my phone behind a calculator lid and looks like I’m using a calc, haha).

I don’t, I am a student who believes in ultimate concentration in all classes. Furthermore, phones are strictly forbidden in my school (it is one of the school rules). If you are caught with a phone (using it or not) three times, you could end up on a suspension.
