How many of your are going to the top college anyone in your class got into?

8 got into NYU
2 into Columbia
1 into Washington U-St.Louis
7 into Rutgers
1 into Emory
10 into Howard
3 into U of Miami

Rest mainly went to either SUNY's,CUNY's,St.John's, or Wagner.

hmm: Nyit Hofstra CW POSt(popular one is- NYIT especially VIP Program where ur under 24-7 supervision for the special ed kids) eww im not that special ed..Iona LAndmark(its actually a good 2 year school for special ed kids in new hampshire its well known and lots of kids go to good colleges afterwards even brown cornell BU BC..my parents tried to get me to go but i want a atmosphere w/ both sped and normal kids.) and a lot more little colleges

No one has gotten into Stanford, UC Berkeley, or the Ivy Leagues. The best has been Vanderbilt, and that was a full ride scholarship for both the valedictorian and the salutatorian of last year. Too bad... the counselors here won't have anything to do with you if your dream has been to go to Harvard/Princeton/Stanford since you were ten...

So, any more people breaking free to break the traditions? Y'all are awesome.

'10 was frickin amazing at our school.....

out of a class of 167, admitted
MIT- 10
Rice- 27
Caltech-3
Stanford- 4
Cornell- 15
UT- 67....
etc.
mmm so proud :)

Let's see...

Vanderbilt - 3 (I'm one of em)
NYU - 1
University of Dallas (I think) - 1
Sewanee and Rhodes - probably 3 or 4

The rest either don't go anywhere or do 4-year state schools (mostly TN Tech, UT Knoxville, or Middle Tennessee State).

For our class I think this year it's Carnegie Mellon. USC is probably second. We usually have one person from each class who gets into an ivy but I don't think we have one this year.

1-Grinnell (Me)
1-Stanford
1-Olin
1-Amherst
1-NYU
1-Carleton
1-Wake Forest
2-Northwestern
1-WUSTL
1-BU
1-UCB
1-Colorado College
45- UW-Madison
45-UM-Twin Cities

and the rest go to UW state schools

Cornell-1 got in but he turned it down and is going to Notre Dame instead
Georgetown- same guy above
Brown- 2, but they bothed turned it down
Harvard- 1

There may be some more kids but I don't know.

Yale-1
MIT-1
Brown-2
Stanford-5
Norte Dame-15 (Catholic high school)

Out of my High School only 1 Senior left the state for college last year. She is going to college somewhere in Nebraska, but I don't remember where. The others.......OU, Oklahoma State, SWOSU (local 4-year...), the local community college, and like 6 in the military. But then again, the class was only 42 students and it is one of the largest classes in like 6 years. A few years ago, one girl got into Duke, she just graduated this year. I don't think anyone is going anywhere prestigious this year.

Out of my class....most will probably stay and farm. Well, most of the guys, anyway. The rest will go to OU or OSU......

there are three of us going to WUSTL and 2 going to Northwestern - most of the top top people are going to state schools - guess we aren't a real ambitious class.

ok
harvard 6 (7 got in, but one decided to go to mit)
MIT 2
stanford 3
columbia 2
brown 1
duke 1
pomona 1
nyu 2
dartmouth 1
caltech 1
harvey mudd 1
bu 2
a whole lot to UCLA and UCB
I know theres some that im forgetting, but this is most of them.

4 are going to Berkeley (including me), a girl is going to Georgetown, and several are going to UCLA, UCSD, and SDSU. It does make sense judging by the economic limitations of the student body.

I'm in the top 5 schools. I'm going to Brandeis and we have students going to West Point (2 of them which is almost unheard of), UNC, Emory, and Rice.

Everyone else is going to GA Tech, UGA, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, or some other state school.

One Yale, One Stanford, One Brown. The Stanford girl supposedly had a 3.7 gpa, but she's hispanic (pretty much the whole school is).

Out of a class of 87:
Harvard-1
MIT-1 (Me)
Stanford-2
Brown-1
Olin-1
Amherst-1
Berkeley-couple
UCLA-couple
UCSD- A LOT

Graduating class this year is really small, about 40 people.

We have:

3 going to Harvard

2 going to Northwestern

6-8 going to Michigan

1 going to Bowdoin

2 going to WUSTL (though 4 or 5 acceptances)

1 going to Mt Holyoke

1 going to Wellesley

6-8 going to MSU

2 or 3 going to Wayne State

I can't remember any of the other competitive colleges.

Our school:

Best was Brown, Colombia, Vanderbilt, I think.. Havne't heard much.

Harvard
Cornell
Princeton
Williams
Brown?
Chicago
Stanford x 2
Berkeley x 2
UPenn Wharton
UPenn College
Carnegie Mellon
Emory
Vanderbilt
Etc. etc. etc.

bump; please refocus everybody.

Remember, the Question is: "How many of you are going to the top college anyone in your class got into?"

This is very thoughtful & creative thread that I think is getting watered down by people simply listing colleges which any of us can pull from a HS website. So w/ all due respect, can we get back to the gist of the thread?
