These are rough numbers of Class Size in recent years (note that they may accept more to yield the class size or create a wait list to pull from). I copied it from an old post and didn’t check accuracy…
Pace MT (BFA): 31
Rider MT (BFA): 49
Emerson MT: 14
Hartt MT: (BFA) 23
New York University: Tisch NSB - 61,
NYU Steinhardt: 24
Are these the numbers admitted or the number aimed for in the incoming classes? Many schools admit more than they intend to yield… ex. admit 60 to yield 30, admit 30 to yield 10, Admit 10 to yield 10 (with a priority waitlist), etc…
@broadwaybabyyy From Marymount Manhattan’s website “On average, we make offers to 100 students for the BFA Acting Program, 100 students for the BA Theatre Arts Major with a Concentration in Theatre Performance, 70-75 students for the Musical Theatre Minor. For the non-performance concentrations in the BA Theatre Arts Major, we enroll approximately 30 students per year.”
@broadwaybabyyy Clay James is saying less than 3.5% admitted to Montclair BFA MT. Prior to this year they’ve had about 700 applications a year; this year I’m assuming more because of the in-state tuition.
At Rider’s information session at Unifieds, they said they have about 25-30 ish people in each MT class. They also specifically said that “the numbers on College Confidential are not correct”. So it’s definitely not as many as were listed up there!
@KatMT Thrilled to be wait listed at your school! Could you share your numbers? How many auditioned for MT, or both like my D, how many offered acceptance, how many wait listed and what size are you shooting for. I know a lot of info
Otterbein - 4 men and 4 women for MT and 4 men, 4 women for Acting (Class size. Not accepted/waitlisted numbers.) It seems like from what I’ve seen/heard this year, there seems to be more waitlisted people, but I can’t verify that.
TCU typically offers 10 girls and 10 boys in hopes of 5 of each accepting. They don’t offer more in case most accept bc the want to keep their numbers down
