how many people get into gemstone

<p>hey i was wondering how many people get into gemstone and how many people get into honors. I got in but i'm not sure if i'm going to maryland or not. I want to see how close knit of a community it is</p>

<p>Will I have to choose between Gemstone and Honors if I'm invited?</p>

<p>No. As a matter of fact, you are an Honors student who was invited to Gemstone. You were invited to Gemstone in addition to your Honors invitation. You have to be a University Honors student to receive an invitation to Gemstone. Typically, 180 University Honors freshmen are Gemstone students.</p>

<p>And I think I read somewhere that research teams are 10-12 people. And you get special housing.</p>

<p>Oh.. and</p>

<p>"Responses are due no later than May 1, 2007. After this date, any unfilled places for freshmen in the Gemstone Program will be offered to other applicants. Please note that confirming for the Gemstone Program does not confirm your enrollment to the university . It only reserves your place in Gemstone. In order to save your place in the Fall 2007 freshman class, you must also complete the enrollment confirmation process by May 1, found at <a href="http://www.uga.umd.edu."&gt;www.uga.umd.edu.&lt;/a&gt;"&lt;/p>

<p>So can we accept now to reserve our spot, but then decide not to go to MD later and cancel??</p>
