It seems many people use Bucknell as a safety. How many of you seriously want to go to school there?

I'm not sure right now...

If I get in, I might choose UCSD over Bucknell.

CA_girl what made you interested in Bucknell?

Probably my 1st choice.

top choice - so close, so nice, such amazing food

My son picked it over Colgate, William and Mary and Washington and Lee. It was not a safety for him. More like a match.

Same here, more like a match. I have Northwestern, Cornell as my reach

waiting for middlebury, but still I can say that Bucknell a perfect perfect place...

By the way, out of scope but, did you know that Bucknell was 1. in playboy's 2003 something ranking (probably about hot student body kind of stuff).. :)

I WANT TO GO BUT I haven't received nothing from them !

Great school, highly regarded - beautiful campus - but I think the somewhat remote location is a turn off for some.

totally agree with fullthrottle

Chano--Bucknell was also ranked #1 for atheletic grad rates for the second year in a row at the NCAA tournament. As in 100% grad rate.

It is remote, but my son has had no trouble getting to Philly, DC or NYC when he wants to. There is so much to do around campus, he generally doesn't go unless it's a debate tournament or a good concert. :)

It's tied with my first choice right now.

Just moved up a notch for me - got waitlisted (along with thousands of others!) from BC.

In at Richmond, still waiting on Tufts, JHU, Colgate, Villanova.

Hang in there Fullthrottle!

My son got in to Richmond, but the Bucknell fin aid was much better. It was similar to Colgate's.

BTW, if you want remote, Hamilton (where Colgate is) is a lot smaller than Lewisburg! You have more northern schools than southern. Are you favoring the northern climes?

The main thing that interesting me to Bucknell is how they have such a strong community bond.

And I love their laidback atmosphere.

My D got offered NO financial aid at Bucknell, and we are out of state w/ two other children behind her to put through college. She liked it there a lot but....

CA_girl did you visit there? We are also in CA.

i didn't visit yet. i want to!! if i get accepted!

i need to just get a whole month off and visit like 10 different colleges.

how did she like it there?

Gorgeous, friendly, fun...she loved it, but $40,000 a year, no financial aid....ya.
