Hmm that's really hard...

I personally don't like Colgate at all, because of the huge party atmosphere... it seems that's all that they do over there, but that's just me.

i got into bucknell... huge shock to me... *zap... heh...

Kristy's mom I sent you a private message, and since you are new to the CC, just look on the upper right corner of this page, and click on where it says "private message" under your screen name ..................

I got into Bucknell today, it is one of 2 schools I am considering. I found out because I got a letter from the campus hillel congratulating me on my acceptance and invitiing me to a Jewish students reception. Im still waiting on the official admissions packet. Should arrive Monday.

I really want to go... but I'm WListed. Might end up at Gettysburg.

I told them where they could put their wait list!!

which is probably why you were on it

Kristy's Mom...my Bucknell soph was also accepted to Colgate. They are very similar. You'd probably need to visit if possible. The fin aid from Colgate and Bucknell came in almost to the penny.

My second son (who is at Carleton) was accepted at Wake. Their fin aid to us was not even in the same ball park as the other schools, so we didn't investigate any further. You might also try the Wake and Colgate boards.

How hard is it to get into bucknell??? Like I have a 3.5-3.6 unweighted, could i get in? And how much do they look at sat scores?

I am curious how they knew you were Jewish. BTW, I think that is a good thing but don't think there is a "box" to check on the common ap for religious preference!

Steve-O,
It's impossible to predict your chances from a GPA alone. Bucknell accepted 33% from its applicant pool this past year. The student body is full of high acheivers. And I think Bucknell is in the top 6% of colleges with an acceptance rate of 33 or lower. So it is hard to get into Bucknell, but it also depends to what college you are comparing Bucknell.

I think the SAT mean is in the high 1200 to 1400 range. Because an applicant usually declares a major, you will be competing with other students within that major. Yes, the school has to look at SAT's, don't they all?
