Hey guys,
I got a low SAT score (1860), and I'm pretty bummed out about that and I've resolved to take ACTs instead.. i hope thats a better choice?

I just want to hear from the high scoreres, about how many weeks did it take you to prep for the ACT test, and how many practice tests did you take? I'm thinking of taking one practice test a week, for about 6-7 weeks.. and hopefully raising my score that way..would that be good enough?

Thanks for the help, and any extra tips would be helpful!

I took the ACT in March with no prep and got a 30. Then, I spent a couple months studying for the June 2nd SAT. The week after that, I took 1 practice test, plus I did each section separately because I had no 4 hour block of time. Then, on June 9th, I got a 34 (should have been a 35, but that's another story...)

Take one, and see how you need to do. I suggest going to the ACT website and doing some questions online to get a feel for the question types. Then do a practice.

I took two practice tests (the only prep I did), and ended up with a 29. I'm pretty sure I could have been higher with more studying, but I was happy with my SATs and I was just taking the ACT sort of last minute anyway.

hmmmm. thanks guys!
I've heard its better to do the whole test (instead of splitting it up) in one time?

Alrite keep posting people....i'd like to hear from more! :)

i would just take as many practice tests as possible and go through as many books as you can. thats the only way to do it
