Hi,
I was wondering how many recommendation letters would be a good number to send in? Is the recommended number usually 2 teachers and 1 counselor? I remember reading somewhere that the more recommendation letters you send in, the less time the admissions judge spends on the rest of your application. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I just wanted to make sure what’s a good number. Also, is it better if the recommendations are from teachers from various fields (ex: english and math instead of 2 english teachers)?
Thanks in advance
I know that for regular admission you don’t need any. (But the admissions office will send your guidance counselor something to fill out. But you never see it and shouldn’t be concerned about that. )
On the honors applications you give the information for your guidance counselor, a teacher, and 2 optional recommenders. But from the looks of it, you give them the information, and they contact the people for the letters. You don’t have to “send” any though the mail or anything like that. It is the same process as the common app basically.
Thanks! Just what I needed.
