<p>I'm applying as a transfer student to Smith, and I was wondering how many letters of recommendation is typical. This is a bit of a last-minute attempt on my part, so I'm not very up-to-date on the application process and I'd love any advice you can all give!</p>

<p>You should have as many as are required by Smith, which according to their page on transfer admissions is two: A college official evaluation and a teacher evaluation. You should have no more, and no fewer than that. </p>
