I'm at my new school and I want to transfer for sophomore standing. I will have known 1 professor really well. Is 1 rec from my professor enough?

Do I need more? I've heard ppl say you also need a deans/advisor rec, where do you get that at? In a big school, theres no way to know the dean personally.

Thanks

The dean/advisor rec is basically just a report of how your grades are, whether or not you've gotten in any trouble and to basically verify that you're in good standing. It really doesn't need the personal touch that your teacher rec does, so don't worry about not knowing your dean. I go to a huge school, and my dean didn't even have access to all my records so my dean/advisor rec has to go through 3 separate departments. Since you'll know the prof writing your rec really well though, you should be fine.
