How many SAT IIs should I take?

I am taking APUSH APBio APPhysics and CalcAB.

Should I take the SAT II for USH Physics and Bio? I am taking the AP Exam for all of them. I am also taking the Math II exam in June.

Should I take 4 exams (2 May and 2 in June) or should I settle for 2 or 3?

I've heard that colleges ONLY look at the top II, but I'm not sure if I want to believe that. I plan to get 5s on all my AP Exams.

You sound arrogant here, too!

I’d go for all of them! I’m just like you… confident about getting really good scores. It’s different from arrogance. It doesn’t hurt so why not?

If I were arrogant, I wouldn’t even come here…

In any case I’m confident about APs but not so sure footed about SAT IIs as they are more competitive than APs.

If you have the time/energy to do all those exams and are certain you can do well, I don’t see why not as it wouldn’t hurt. Just don’t run back to retake a test for an 800 if you get a 770 or something on a subject you’re not majoring in, because THAT would give a bad vibe to colleges.

On a side note, though, my general advice is to do the exams on subjects that INTEREST you. Don’t do stuff just for college unless you really need a bit of a boost. If you really enjoy studying history, the sciences, and math, great, go ahead. It’s just important to remember that top-tier colleges are not necessarily looking for people who are more obsessed about grades than love of a subject.

Best of luck, and if you have any questions on Bio or Math II SAT subject tests, feel free to message me.

Thanks for your constructive post.

I was contemplating the SAT IIs because I thought I might as well if I was taking the accompanying AP classes. My main interests are Math IIC and Biology, and I don’t have a good teacher for either so I will be sure to ask .

Thanks!

See my other post, comrade. I was in a drunken stupor when making both these posts. I didn’t wanna come out and say it, but there it is.

Most colleges that require subject tests require only two. Check the school’s requirements, then take two, maybe three. I have to take three because I need math and physics for Engineering schools I’m applying to, but I need a language for another school because it is the only way to exempt myself. Remember, you are paying for these tests, don’t take more than you have to.
