How many Sat II's until you seem anal?

Just wondering...I took bio freshman year, planning to take world history/chemistry sophomore year, and at least some of either us history, latin, english, or physics.

How many before it seems like I have no life and just love testing?

Assuming you've done well, you can technically stop at 3, but if it's no biggie (and they are only an hour, right?), I'd guess you could go for four or five. But no more.

I took six, which is probably overkill. I started with French and Literature because I thought they'd be easy (they were). Then for a while I wanted to apply to MIT, which requires math and a science, so I took Math II, Chemistry, and Biology-M -- I couldn't decide which science to take since I'm taking IB courses in both. Then I took Spanish because I haven't taken it in high school and didn't want colleges to think I was BSing when I wrote "Spanish independent study" on my activities list. I really wouldn't recommend taking that many; I had reasons for doing it and scored 700+ on all of them, but it really isn't necessary (or even useful) at all.

Although 6 is a lot, I wouldn't say that it is overkill--6 SAT II's can theorhetically be taken in two testings. Personally, I did 3 + however many more I needed to get the scores that I wanted. The first three that I took were US, Lit, and Math I, and I took them because those were the AP's that I was taking (well, AP US, Eng. Lang., and Calc) and I didn't want to study. Worked out fine for the first two (780, 770), but I probably should have taken Math II at that time (I got a 730 on Math I, which is certainly not bad but not the score I was shooting for). Later, I took Math II (again, no studying!) and got a 770. Not as good as 3 800's, but not too shabby, IMO.

I really wanted to take four or five, but ended up sticking with three for several reasons -- international testing's buggeringly expensive, and I did well enough on the three I did take (800, 800, 790) to stick with those scores.

I did 5 as did my brother. We took Math II because we're planning on having engineering as at least one of our majors; Physics, Chem and Bio to provide a bit of a validation of the courses we're taking; and Literature (decided to, 2 days before the test date) partly because we love English and partly to see the questions :). I got an 800 Math II (hope that'll offset a 730 SAT I math score), 800 Chem, 780 Bio E, 770 Physics & Literature; my brother went a little overboard with 800s in all five.

I'd say six is the limit. Most people I know stopped after fulfilling the minimum requirements (two or three depending on the school). If you get good scores, there's no need to go further than three or four.
