How many SAT IIs ?

How many SAT IIs have you taken or planned to take?

I took 3 yesterday and plan on taking 2-3 more in the fall. I know that most schools only require 2-3 but I still want to take a language test and depending on how I did yesterday I may want to take another one.

I took 2 yesterday (USH and Math IC) and am going to be retaking a math one, probably Math IC again in the fall...also probably going to take Lit in the fall too.

I took Math II and USH and did well. I'm going to retake Physics in the fall; that score's gonna be ugly. Im not really qualified to take any others unfortunately...

I took Chem last year, IC this year and am probably not going to take anymore. I might, however, take another one in the fall - perhaps Spanish/Lit.

Is it really an advantage to take more than 3 tests? I know you can show your knowledge of the subject, but is it really a big factor in admissions?

I highly doubt it; if they ask for two, they will look at two. If they want three, then they will look at three, etc. That would be my guess- they wouldn't request two if they really wanted four.

Even so, colleges are sneaky like that - who knows what they really want? I hope you're right though, because I'm only really strong in 3 fields, so demanding that we take more than 3 would be discrimination. ;p

I took Chem, Math II and Literature in May, did well, will be taking Physics and Bio in October.

i have taken 4:
Bio-last year (680)
Math I-yesterday
US Hist-yesterday
Spanish-yesterday

what kind of score should i be expecting in math if i left seven with no answer and everything else was correct?

i've taken one (bio yesterday) and planning on taking:
math iic (oct)
world hist (dec, if i'm up to it)
chem (next jun)
us hist (may 08)
retake chem- after ap (may 08)
physics (jun 08)
french (jun 08)

i plan so far ahead :P

"I highly doubt it; if they ask for two, they will look at two. If they want three, then they will look at three, etc."

What about more selective schools? Would it be a significant advantage to have taken more than the minimum, or wouldn't they really care?

I have taken, in order:
Biology
Math 2C
Chem
Physics

I think those are the only ones I will take.

Thecomisar,

Significant? No.

But if your school doesn't offer an AP Chem class and you love chem (prospective major), it'd probably good to get some sort of standardized or AP test score to prove you know your stuff.

I took MathIIC yesterday.
Plan to take Biology and Chemistry in October.

my theory is that taking more looks better than retaking the same three... while still giving you an oppurtunity to score better. whether or not colleges only look at your top three or look at them all... you'll have more tests to choose the top three from :)

09xoxo, if you're going to take AP Chem, why not just wait til after the class to take the sat2? It's rather silly to plan to take the test and retake it a year later.

if i get a bad score on the chem the first time around, ap chem would justify taking the sats again... however if i get a good score.. i can lump the three sat iis onto one date and use the other to take the sat i...

i only need 2, so i was smart and only took 2

bio M
math 2C

yesterday i took biology and world history. i'll take literature, math level 2, and us history next year. maybe french with listening senior year, who knows.

Yesterday, I took world history and literature. The schools that I will be applying to only require two. Unless I totally bombed my two subject tests, I am done with all SAT testing (still have ACT in Sept.).
