How many SAT IIs?

So some colleges require 2, some require 3. Do they like it if you take more than that, though? I have a Math II and Physics test, both 800s. I'm going to be a senior, so I don't have much time to take my last tests. I'm going to do US History, and maybe one more. If I think I can do well on these tests, should I take two, for a total of four?

Also, what's the latest month that colleges can receive tests for Early Application, and is it different from Regular Decision?

It depends what colleges you want to go to. If any of the ones on your list require 3, then I would take US History and another test. But if none require 3 then its silly

And I think its different for each college

Harvard, Princeton and Georgetown are the only ones that require three, otherwise those that require IIs require only 2. There are a few that do not require any SAT IIs but recommend three. Having more than required really does not add anything but taking more can help if you blow one because many consider only the top 2 (or 3 if 3 required).

More is ALWAYS better, all things being equal (but don’t become test happy in lieu of ECs); how “much” better depends on the college, including those colleges that don’t even recommend/require Subject Tests. Four 800’s look better than three, assuming different disciplines. Four 5’s on AP scores is better than two 5’s.

Think about it.

No college requires more than 3, but yes, it’s always good to have more, just for that extra edge.

Don’t take more if you can spend that time doing something better for your app though.
