With the new SAT, will UVA require 2 or 3 SAT2s?

I would imagine 2, but check with the admissions website/office.

this is just an addition to this thread, cause its sorta related. How much do SAT II scores factor into the admissions process?

they require 2 now. SAT IIs arent really important, but i think UVA wants them cuz it shows the measure of how well u can perform on particular subject, since you can actually study for it. Could be looked as a particular exemption from a class if you do really well, yet im not sure

they don't actually require the SAT II's, they strongly recommend them - directly quoted from an info session

Yes, you will be exempted from certain classes if you have a high enough score.

You can get out of writing and foreign language requirements with SAT2's, but I think that's it. SAT2's aren't technically required, and I know people who got in ED and waited until the spring to take their SAT2's (for placement purposes.) Personally, I'd recommend taking a language test, a math test, and one or two others.

I'm definantly not going to take a language test :)

Yeah they're recommended, you can send SAT II's after you've sent ur app I think. Also, I believe you can get out of writing if you score a 720 or above, and they make exceptions for 670-710 if you passed AP Lang with like a 4+ or something.

So what if you're in a position like mine and you have a solid ACT score and would rather not take more standarized tests? Realistically how important are these SAT IIs? I know they are "recommended", but how much do they factor in to the decision?
