how many schools are you applying to?

whats the average number of schools that transfer students should apply to?

6-7.......

1 or 2 (Dartmouth, and maybe Cornell)
can you guys recommmend any school that offers international financial aid?

ummm Harvard, Columbia, Penn, Stanford, Georgetown, Brown, and Cornell. 7.

Williams I believe offers great financial aid for internationals.

Williams? W&M?

the liberal arts college, its one of the best schools in the country.

6 schools for me

3, unc, umich, uwisc

4, will only possibly go to two.

do u guys think that professors whom you will be recieving recommendations from could possibly end up screwing you because you are leaving the school that they currently teach at and it could possibly be misconstrued as a slap in the face to the college? i mean i'm extremely paranoid about things like this but im starting to think its not far from the truth if you are getting a rec from a professor whom you did really well in their class but you didnt like completely and utterly bond with. tell me if you think im crazy but you never can really know for sure, especially if your applying to multiple top schools which can make it seem like you just want to get into a better school than the one they teach at (which in most cases, is the case).

from my experiences, i don't think this is usually the case. I was a lil concerned about this very issue with one of the people i got my rec from, and she was very reassuring and said that my rec was very posititive and reflected that i was an exceptional student who was capable of being successful at any university.

Though my experiene may be anomalous, my professors actually confronted me with the idea of transferring, and they were more than happy to write my recommendations.

"they confronted u with the idea of transferring,"

i don't get it, u mean they approached u before u approached them to transfer.

yea bball, i thought that too. thats seems a little odd unless he was in a school where his professors thought he was by far intellectually superior.

They would have thought incorrectly, at any rate; however, my professors did recognize that the school was not right for me.

I did ponder transferring the summer before school, but it was idle speculation.

really, how small r ur classes?

You mean, how small were my classes?

The school's lack of suitability was not because of class-size. It was restraining me because it did not have the resources I needed for my work.

Well, to answer the original question, 4.

3-5.

Bryn Mawr, Barnard, Brown, and I'm looking for a couple more.
