<p>I'm just wondering how many schools most people apply to as a transfer student. I've applied to 4 UCs, GA Tech, USC and will apply to Illinois Urbaba-Champaign, and Rose-Hulman, and considering Rice, Cornell, Carnegie, and a few others. </p>
<p>Becoming a little overwhelmed with the fact there is not only the admission application but also the separate financial aid application for many schools that needs to be filled out AND maybe even housing... It feels a bit much to apply for all these things especially when I don't even know if I'm going to be accepted. </p>
<p>Financial aid especially. USC's financial aid requires a profile from Collegeboard or something that is $10 to sign up and then $16 to be sent to schools (which is a little ridiculous as it sort of defeats the purpose of financial aid... Paying to be considered). </p>

<p>Well, the good thing is, the Common App makes applying to these schools pretty easy.</p>
<p>Personally, I have 6 schools I have listed. Already applied to USC. Already applied to McGill.</p>
<p>The remaining 4 are Cornell, Carnegie-Melon (unfortunately, they don’t accept transfers to their b-school, so I don’t know if I’ll send in the app), UNCCH, and Emory.</p>
<p>I’ve had all my transcripts and such sent to these schools, but haven’t completed the apps. I’ll be applying to UNCCH and Cornell for sure. The other two are undecided.</p>
<p>Keep in mind, the app fees can get expensive. I’d personally apply to like 4-8 schools.</p>

<p>Most privates, and even some publics require the Profile to be submitted for FA. This is because FAFSA only covers Federal funds, the Profile determines the amount of Institutional (provided by the college itself) funds you receive. If you apply to Rice and CMU, they will require the Profile as well.</p>
<p>Yeah, I forgot to mention what entomom did. All 6 of the schools I listed require the CSS profile for FA.</p>
<p>Happykid applied to two - one in-state safety, and one OOS dream school. Her major is not offered everywhere, the IS option is very good, and the dream school is enough better than the safety to make her application worth the effort.</p>

<p>I did four UCs, free, and no transcripts or nothing. Plus an extra nine: Carnegie, Rose-Hulman, Illinois, Rice, TX Austin and A&M, GA Tech… And maybe Vanderbilt, their 40%+ acceptance rate is very attractive, lol… </p>
<p>I got a fee waiver for USC though unsure how to follow up on that. I know some schools will accept a fax of my Pell grant letter so. But have five schools to send transcripts from, and that is getting expensive, lol.</p>
