wow that’s a lot, out of the 9, how many of them were reaches?

^ One. It was Georgia Tech.

Three – HPS

baelor how many did you get into?

PS – H was an odd case that year at my school. S was too. My results are unreliable.

Baelor… you seem familiar.

It depends on how much money you have. I was set on what school I wanted to go to. I applied to one and secretly applied to another. 1 safety, 1 match. I am going to my safety.

Most average students only apply to about 4 or 5. It’s only tippy-top students who have 1k+ to drop on application fees.

^ C’mon, UMich isn’t ** that ** bad.

^ I didn’t want my family to know because I didn’t want the pressure.

Got the pressure anyway when they found my acceptance in the recycle (I was the whole extended family’s last chance for a blue baby).

And yes, it is. I really, really hate UMich. You have no idea.

^Specifically why? And don’t reply with something along the lines of “they’re all elitists.”

^ They’re all elitists.

But really, I don’t like Ann Arbor. At all.
I didn’t like the campus.
I didn’t like the professors that I met.
I didn’t like the atmosphere (I’m very laid-back and that is not really the vibe there).
I didn’t like the residential college (and I very much wanted a residential college program… and I’m now in an awesome one).
I didn’t like a lot of the staff I encountered.
I don’t like the high-pressure, cut-throat atmosphere of many of the classes.

It goes on really. It’s not against the school (I have no issue with UMich). I just hate it in the context of my life. It’s not my cup of tea is all.

I find a lot of the classes seem pretty laid back, and it’s not really high pressure (save a few classes), or cut-throat (though apparently Ross is). Though I’ll give you, Central is ugly.

Everyone’s got to like something different though. Good that you like MSU though.

Thanks. Qwerty, I do believe you’re literally the first person ever on CC (and connected to UMich) to not instantly jump down my throat. It is much appreciated :).

Good luck at UMich (which is where I assume you’re going).

i have a few on my mind. 1 goal, not sure whether or not to call it a reach because the school’s unpredictable with admissions sometimes, 1 match, 1 safety, 1 super safety.

I’m also only a junior, so of course, my options will change and ill definitely apply to more than 4 colleges.

Thanks Romani. Though I’d probably jump down your throat for your choice of major. That aside though…

But yeah, I go to UMich.

My major is my major. I would rather be poor doing what I love than rich doing something I hated -.-

Plus, I have a trade to fall back on if all else fails. Trust me, I’ll never starve.

I wasn’t actually trying to jump down your throat for your major… Wasn’t really a serious post.

Sorry, still sore from the Death of the Liberal Arts major thread. My apologies :).

(Long night- had to write a paper about Plato’s version of justice. I REALLY hate Plato right now. Actually, I think all of my major hates Plato right now. Dude’s a prick.)

Do anyone else’s schools impose limits on how many schools you can apply to? Ours says we can only apply to 8 US schools, and there are limits for other countries too :
It would be nice to be allowed to apply to a few more reaches…

^ No, but if you try to request more than eight transcripts at once you will receive a venomous glare.
