As I'm filling out applications and preparing for auditions I'm wondering if I should apply to ALL the colleges I am.
Here's a list of where I'm applying to:

Muhlenberg (scholarship audition)
Skidmore College
Wagner College (Audition)
Russell Sage College (Audition)
Temple University (Audition)
Marymount Manhattan College (Audition)
Le Moyne College
Hofstra University

That's nine colleges. I know that doesn't seem like a lot compared to some. It seems most BFA MT majors are applying for 10+ programs. But I'm not intending to be a BFA major so this whole process is probably less rigorous and competitive, right?
Some of the colleges on there I don't know if I want to attend but I felt I needed to have more colleges so I added them. Is it pointless to have them on there?

I'm tired of trying to find other colleges when I only REALLY want to attend one of these colleges.

So, thoughts anyone?

Also thank you for reading this. I feel it's a bit of a spew.

I only counted 8 schools! Anyway, 4 of these are audition-based. So even though they are not BFA programs, they are still pretty competitive. Depending on your academics, the other 4 schools may or not be considered safeties for you. Under these circumstances, 8 schools doesn’t seem unreasonable.

I don’t see the logic in applying to a school you don’t want to attend, though. Yes, this does seem pointless and an unnecessary expense.

I understand where you are coming from-- i felt the same pressure to audition for lots of schools even if i wasnt even considering them. In retrospect, im glad i cut the few that i did, and im more glad that I didnt take on as many as most people. But this one is your choice, bud.

You’re right I did list only eight I forgot to add Sarah Lawrence College (No audition) to the list. haha
Thank you both for your input and advice. I appreciate it.
I’m going to continue to carefully consider these colleges and whether I should apply to them. Maybe I’ll look for others, but most likely not. We will see.
Blessings to you both.
