How many seats did they open last year for Chem 6A?

<p>but you can check for yourself on the schedule of classes, just change the quarter to FA09 or F08.</p>

<p>oh, what do you know, 40/38 seats also. But so many open seats. Is this the result of people dropping out within the first 2 weeks?</p>

<p>not the first two weeks, over the course of the quarter</p>

<p>while the discussions have roughly the same number of people, if you count the number of discussions for each professor, then you’ll see that they had more discussions per professor last year. this year, right now they only have 7 discussions for each professor, while last year, they had 8 or 9 discussions for each professor.
so maybe the professors will simply add discussions for their lecture?</p>

<p>^It’s possible. It’s been done for many classes many times before.</p>

<p>My counselor just told me that the Chem dept. is planning on opening more time sections in order to let the hundreds of pending students get a class. Basically the goal is to make sure everyone got Chem6a as much as they can afford. I sure hope so, because I’m waitlist #11 and NEED to get in just as much as everyone else. xD</p>

<p>I just decided to take Physics since my councellors said </p>

<p>“Only add yourself to a waitlist if you can be 10 or less. If you do this, the CHEM dept. told us you will be added to the class. If you cannot find any waitlist with 10 or less then you can enroll in physics or a GE.”</p>

<p>or instead of listening to them, you could just check webreg daily until more spots open up, then enroll in chem.</p>

<p>Quick question: When more spots open up, will there still be people on waitlist? I want to switch my discussion time, so it would be sweet if I can just switch right away instead of being put on another waitlist.</p>
