How many Seniors are AP Scholars at Start of Senior Year

Cool, If I'm lucky I'll be one out 400. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'm talking about just regular AP Scholars... not over-achieving CCers.... about what percentage of those apply to colleges put that they are at least AP Scholars...?

rizwan, don't you need to get at least 3 on all exams.

anyway, if I pass UShist (havent gotten the scores yet) then AP scholar w/ distinction

i was an ap scholar w/ distinction at the beginning of my senior year. there were only 2 people with this at my school (large public suburban)

All my friends and I had at least AP scholar before senior year. I thik it is really really common.

35,934 AP Scholars in the nation last year, before their senior year.

Three people at my school had AP scholar award before senior year, and then we all got national AP scholar awards. I think there might have been a few more who got additional scholar awards after they graduated, based on what scores they had gotten previously (I don't actually know, but I'm assuming because they're good students). I don't know how common it is or not, all I know is that in my school system, no one even knows what it is. My guidance counselors had no clue because no one at our school before my friends and I had gotten an award before their senior year. But I live in GA and go to a public school system whose primary message seems to be to underachieve. They don't like people who challenge themselves....and they wonder why we're pretty much last in education?????? Totally off topic, anyways, I don't think that it is really common where I am from, but I'm sure that in places elsewhere in the US, like New England, it's pretty common.

I'm an AP Scholar....its really exciting!!!

"...students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams."

Nope, it's just an average.

dammit! I have 7 APs, but I needed 8 for National AP Scholar.
5 calc bc and 5 ab subscore, , 4 comp. sci, 5 bio, 4 world, 4 stat, 4 govt, 5 lang. So i guess scholar with distinction.......

From the standpoint of college apps, does even National Scholar matter that much?

It would be a moot point if it happened after graduation, but before graduation it would be another feather in your cap; since there were only 435 national scholars in the nation last year.

I'm a junior and a national scholar (straight 5's on 8 tests) and I have a friend that also qualified.

Another question.. that 45k AP Scholar number, does that include Honors, Distinctions, etc?

35,934 AP Scholars, not including honors, distinctions, etc.

I'm an AP Scholar with Honor.

when do you receive official notice of your award?

It's pretty amazing that there were 6 AP State Scholars last year who were juniors. Bravo!!!!:)

P.S.: I am an AP Scholar with Distinction.
