How many spots are open for the Class of 2013?

No idea. Sorry

Well, they have about 8200 undergrads, so that means 2050 per class

and I think their yield rate is about 40-45% (so for the sake of this, let’s round up and say it’s 50%)… So you’d figure they’d accept about 4000 people, expecting about half of them to matriculate (or maybe they accept 2500 or so up front and then eventually accept from the wait list once the numbers fall below about 2100)

but i’m not exactly sure; these are just my estimates

There were about 500 ED acceptances and I believe last years class was around 1600 students. I don’t think they have room for more than 1800 per class, but because of the yield rate they’ll accept more students than thy have space. My guess for RD is they’ll accept around 2500-3000 out of the 25,400 and then pull students off the waitlist.

The good news for your guys is that the yield rate for the c/o 2012 is actually much lower… it’s 31.7%. Last year, 25,013 applied, 6,552 were admitted, and 2,078 enrolled.

If they go by the 32% yield rate again this year (they might expect lower because of the economy who knows), that means 6,600 will be admitted for an acceptance rate of about 26% (6600/25400). If 500 were accepted ED, that leaves 6,100 more offers RD. Approximately 18,800 will be denied (and a small fraction of that initially waitlisted).

whoops

*you guys
