How many students in active wait-list status here?

How many of us here are in active wait-list status of Middlebury College ?any international students requiring huge financial aid?

Does any one know when will we be notified of decision?

During Preview Days, the Dean of Admissions indicated that they estimated that one out of four RD admits will accept Middlebury’s offer of admission. Although I am clearly biased, I will be surprised if they need to turn to the wait list…

I’m an international student active on the Middlebury waitlist and I do require almost a full ride

We do know from the New York Times that 1,641 applicants were waitlisted this year.

Does anyone know when do they announce their results?

Will a need of larger financial aid be a determining factor for a waitlisted candidate?

I heard they do discriminate between the financial aid and non-financial aid applicants.

Seems like the result will come out around 15.

On the wait list too, heard from college counselor its not likely they will go to the wait list :(

If they go to the wait list, it should start any time now, and they will offer a few students places on a day by day basis, giving them 24 hours to make a decision and send a non-refundable deposit.

Has anyone heard yet?

Looks like Middlebury has greatly over-enrolled this year, meaning it’s highly unlikely the school will use its waitlist. According to the Associated Press, the college wanted a freshman class of 700 (600 September admits and 100 Febs). By May 1, the college had received 759 deposits.

There may be some hope though–as other colleges use their waitlists, some students who committed to Midd may accept other offers of admission.

So has it been confirmed yet? Did Midd not go to the wait list? Has anyone heard yet?

I am also a waitlisted student. Have any of you heard from Middlebury yet?

I got released from the waitlist yesterday. So it’s officially closed.

S received a notice a few days ago that the waitlist was closed. He will be attending Bates. OldBatsieDoc, can you comment on the differences between the two schools? I think his first choice was actually Bates, but I was hoping he’d have the chance to decide…

Congratulations to your son! I’m sure he’ll love it there.
