Although most universities now request only 2 subject test results, how many do you think a student should take/submit, especially in the case of admission for Ivy Leagues and most selective schools?

I'm planning on applying ED to Wharton with 800 in Math 2 and 800 in chem- no other subject tests were taken. That being said, my reasoning test scores are far from ideal (as in far from 2200, even.) Should I take another subject test, or focus on taking the reasoning test a third and final time in the fall?

UPenn uses highest two subject test scores if you submit more than two, so unless you can score higher than 800, another subject test is pointless for it. That is true of most colleges that require subject tests. Harvard and Princeton say they will consider any sent but don’t expect extra subject tests to add anything if you already have two 800s

I am an international, and so I would like to take more tests because it would be easy for admission officers to judge my level with a test they are acquainted with. However you are implying that UPenn don’t even take a look at the tests (Is that true?). These tests would help me show, with my scores, my level in comparison with those of other candidate from my country who might be in a more “prestigious” school. As they are standardized tests, it would be fairer. Therefore I would be more likely to get into these colleges.
What do you think of my viewpoint? and the most important, what do colleges think of this viewpoint?

SAT1 is more important since you have already reached the minimal requirement with 800 in both subject test scores. If you can get your SAT1 above 2250, you would have a much better chance.

So the scores came back today… 2280 (CR 730, W 750, M 800). Super scoring doesn’t help with this at all. I’m a little ambivalent about retaking because I have plenty of room to study, but also room to do worse. I’m pretty happy with my scores, though.

I’m applying to Vassar, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Colgate, among other similarly ranked colleges. So far I’ve taken the SAT I (770,770,730=2270), SAT II Chemistry (710) and SAT II Physics (790). Vassar requires 2 SAT subject test in different academic areas. Would Math Level 2 be considered a different academic area? Or would English Lit be a safer bet? I would probably score more highly on the Math 2. Should I take both? Thanks!
