So far, I've went to 2.

What about you guys?

here in country it’s sweet 17.
15-20, I guess.

I’ve been to one, planned (and failed) one, skipped one, and invited to one next month.

@Monochrome

hahahaha my (indonesian) mom is soo excited for my sweet 17.

I’ve been to 3. Two of them hardly count since my friends prefer to run around a park playing soccer for their parties than do actual party things, lol.

i’ve been to just one sweet 16.

then my family is the complete opposite.
they were like ‘duh, it’s like any other birthday.’

Hahaha.

I’ve been to eight formal sweet 16s so far. Danced in 3 cotillions, helped plan 1, and wrecked the dance floor on the rest.

^^ How could it be like any other birthday?! Mad planning goes into making one, not to mention the ridiculous amount of money the debutante’s parents will spend on making the party happen. I got so stressed out when helping plan that one sweet sixteen lol.

My Sweet 16 was horrible by many standards I sat in a hotel room at Nickolodean Studios [cheap rates that time of year] while the friend I had invited was up in PA with her dad [last minute plans? I don’t know] watching * Baby Momma * whilst my mom was down with her friend and her friend’s much younger children at the waterpark below.
I guess it was just another birthday. The perk? I’m getting some awesome graduation gifts, Nerf gun included.
Back to the OP: About…2? If that.

@Aero: Yeah, the amount of money spent on the birthday is ridiculous.

There’s this uber rich friend of mine who spent at least $450,000 for her birthday. She imported things from Japan, including the souvenirs.

$450,000 that can be spent wisely.

No one here made a big deal about turning 16. I wen to a joint sweet 16 for three people I think, and maybe two others. I don’t really remember.
I went to my sister’s cotillion. Our parents forced her to be a debutante for some unknown reason.

I planned one, a surprise.

Thats it

Mine really wasn’t a big deal. I had a pool party with a couple of my friends. It was the evening, so we had the entire pool to ourselves. I basically spent my entire night having waterfights and eating cake. I don’t think anything fancier would have been nearly as fun :D

I helped to plan a surprise sweet 16 for one of my friends… Apart from that, I think I’ve been to one or two. A couple of my friends have summer birthdays, so I don’t get to go to their parties.

I went to a few, but mine was really small, just had 5-6 friends over for a few hours and ate cake. I’ve never been a fan of big parties…

None, those popular kids will be eating their decisions to not invite me someday when they need computer help.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the jocks and cheerleaders will look up and shout “Save us!”… and I’ll whisper “no.”

I have been to 0.

None. I didn’t even have my own. Watching “My Super Sweet Sixteen” kind of puts you off them for awhile.

i went to 2ish. I didn’t have my own though…because I didn’t want to plan it

I’ve been to 1 so far. I made friends with Sophomores after they all turned 16 besides 1. It was fun! :D

It’ll be my 16th this October. My mom says that her and I will go to NYC for a couple of days for my sweet 16. Super excited!

2 sophomore year
