how many times can a junior take the SATS

Hey,

i know that colleges generally follow the 4 tests max standard for SAT 1 (or atleast i think they do). But how about the class of 2006. We have the added burden (or benefit) of taking the new sat. How many times can we take the old sat and new sat?

as many as your heart desires, but I think the same guidelines would follow- 4 total. I'd take the old one once, and the new one 2 or 3 times. I think that's probably plenty.

There is a real problem if you need to take any of the tests more than twice.

Why is there a real problem?

Woooooooooo, realize this.

If you are a junior, you MAY not be able to use the old SAT. If you do use the old SAT, the January test is the last time that you can take the Writing test before they get rid of it.

So, if you are looking to use the old test, and are applying to Top schools, make sure that you have a good Writing test by the end of January.

There is no rule saying how many times you can take it.

You can take it more than 4 times.

Take it as many times as you like, until you're satisfied.

actually nickleby during the college fairs atmy school i talked to representatives from Princeton and Penn, and they said that you can simply take the old SAT without the SAT II writing, and they'll take the old SATscores if they're the highest along with the writing from the new SAT.

A student that takes any of the tests more than twice has wasted money unnecessarily.

Failing to prepare sufficiently for any of the tests is only understandable the first time a student takes the test. There are many rationales/excuses for not preparing sufficiently for the test the first time because a student has not yet seen the actual test and does not know exactly what it is like.

If a student takes the test more than two times, he or she would have to have failed to prepare sufficiently more than once.

This is not understandable because the student has seen the actual test and knows if he or she needs to study for it. He or she has made the same mistake twice, demonstrating a lack of common sense.

However, there is no problem with respect to the college admissions process. The College Board will gladly accept your money and your scores will be accepted by the colleges that you apply to.

By the way, I am not implying that a student who takes any of the tests more than twice because of failing to prepare sufficiently is unintelligent or in any way inferior to others.

I myself will be retaking an SAT II test next month.

Ok, this makes no sense...well it doesn't matter...
