How many times do people take the SAT?

How many times do most people take the SAT / ACT?

I'm taking the SAT for the 1st time on Apr 1. I was planning to take it again in June but now realize that if I take the SAT subject tests, I can't take the SAT. Should I do it again in May? Is anyone else doing that? If I wait til October I might not have a good idea of where I should apply? I'm also taking the ACT on April 7th.

saturday will be my 2nd (and last, most likely) time taking it. you should probably keep it under 3 times so you don't look obsessed.

I was wondering the same thing:

my plan was to take the sat April 1, Ap tests in may, Subject tests in June, and the sat again in october

does that sound like a good plan..or does anyone have any reccomendations?

4 is MAX. No more.

im doing 1st in Apr...AP's & SATII may...more SAT IIs in June...SAT I in oct...and maybe 1 more in dec

There is no max! One can take it as many times as they please. However, most students do not improve after a third testing so it is a waste of time/money to continue taking the test.

Here is what I did though.

Old in Oct 2004
SAT II's Jun 2005
New Oct 2005 (Verbal Down 70, Math Same)
New Jan 2006 (Verbal Up 90, Math Down 20, Writing up 60, essay up 2)

My verbal score fluctuated 90 pts between my first and last testing and my math did not move between first and second testings and went down 20 on my third testing.
