How many times have you studied abroad?

Countries are calling me! There are so many to choose from and so many programs. I'm looking at studying abroad for two summers. That's the absolute max my major will let me to graduate on time. I'm planning on going to Spain, which includes a week or two of trips to neighboring countries, and then somewhere in Central/South America.

How many times have you studied abroad? Where did you go? How long where you there?

So no one in the Study Abroad forum has actually studied abroad or even traveled during college?

Could you consider doing one study abroad programme in a country that you really want to get to know intimately, and then saving the other countries for a big backpacking trip?

Study abroad and other group trips are not the only way to leave the USA!

I plan on studying abroad for a semester in London Aug21-Dec 8 of 2013 and in Czech Republic for a summer June21-July21 of 2015

I studied abroad twice from twice different universities. To the UK and US.You should try maximize the amount of money saved by going on study abroad. ie by going to the US on study abroad I got to study there without paying extremely high tuition fees that I would normally have to pay.

I’m going to study abroad this summer in China (my first time). I plan to also study abroad in spring 2015 in the Netherlands, summer 2015 in China, and maybe sometime fall 2015 or spring 2016 in South Korea. I know the China program I’m going on has three tiers and so there are people who’ve at least studied abroad three times. It really depends on your major and probably your financial aid on how many times you can study abroad. I’m double majoring in International Studies and Chinese so the courses I’m taking will be relevant to my degree.

Lol - if you’re thinking of studying abroad for a couple of summers check out budgetstudyabroad.com.

I did some of the stuff they suggest on the site - one thing I have learned over the years is to be discrete about the number of times I studied abroad, but suffice it to say that “countries were calling me too!”

And a lot of working and saving and patience…and I studied in all of the countries I wanted to.

Spain, by the way in an excellent choice. I studied abroad in Spain several times - two summers, and one academic year.

You’re gonna have such a great time!
